“Humboldt meets Leibniz: Emerging Topics in Optics and Photonics”, which will be held on 21-22 October 2020 at Leibniz University Hannover, is the first of a new event series. Early-career researchers are now welcome to submit applications!
Humboldt meets Leibniz is a joint event of Leibniz University Hannover and the Volkswagen Foundation, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and will be held every two years focusing on a different topic each time. Under the slogan “Connecting Talents Across Generations” the event brings together young researchers from Germany and abroad with renowned Alexander von Humboldt award winners. The programme encourages interaction and includes scientific forums as well as opportunities for sharing experiences, networking and discussing topics relevant to career development.
Early-career and emerging doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from different disciplines with a focus in one of the fields of optics and photonics listed below are invited to apply until 20 April 2020. Comprehensive information can be found at https://www.uni-hannover.de/HmL. For selected participants all expenses in relation to the conference will be covered and they will be provided an allowance for travel and accommodation.
The symposium will extensively explore the entire field of optics and photonics ranging from its theory to the manufacturing of products. Among other topics, this includes:
- materials and metamaterials
- material simulation
- quantum optics and components
- multiphysics simulation
- laser and systems
- optical imaging
- metrology
- manufacturing and control systems
Please tell your researchers about the event and the possibility to participate. We also encourage you to inform your cooperation partners abroad. I have enclosed information on the programme, as well as the call for applications.
We look forward to a plethora of diverse applications and in turn a vibrant event!
